As a wise man said, we must never forget where we came from and the sacrifices made, lest we become arrogant with what we have.

For those who garnered and held fast so I may laugh, love, work, complain, speak, walk, pray and live in freedom, I thank you.

From the submarine cook deep in the ocean to the jet fighter pilot flying high in the sky, I thank you. 

For those long gone, those we've lost, those who've served, those still serving, and those who are planning to do so, I thank you.
